Look 01, Illustrator flat
The idea
This mini-collection is focused on athletic wear and swimwear. It was inspired by spandex fabric waste left over from my graduation project. The spandex fabric was perfect for breathable swimwear but the pieces that were left were very small and had to be reused somehow. This collection is my attempt at re-using and minimising fabric waste.
The colours are chosen to evoke a feeling of freshness and energy. The bright colours are complemented by modernised Indian ethnic patterns, inspired by the motifs embroidered on Sualkuchi silk sarees from Assam and adapted to fit contemporary aesthetics.
The pieces that were left were very small and had to be reused somehow.
The same urban, individualistic customer as the graduate collection, at the gym, the pool and on the street.
